AURORA—Tim Schmitz and Juan Thomas, candidates for State Representative of the 42nd District, are scheduled to participate in a moderated debate October 22 at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) .
Schmitz, a Republican, and Thomas, a Democrat, are seeking the seat held by retiring State Representative Suzanne Deuchler.
The public is invited to attend. The event will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the IMSA auditorium.
Schmitz and Thomas will respond to questions from a media panel and from members of the audience.
The event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters-Aurora, American Association of University Women-Aurora Branch, and the Aurora Area Retired Teachers Association.
IMSA is located at 1500 West Sullivan Road in Aurora. Guests should arrive around 6:45 p.m., park in the lot on the west side of the main building, and use the main entrance by the circle and flagpole. For more information, call 907-5034.
